High Purity Water Systems

Water is one of the most important materials used in the manufacturing of pharmaceutical and medical device products. Because water quality can directly impact product quality GMP regulations require that water receive the same scrutiny, monitoring, and control as any other critical raw material used in manufacturing processes. As a result, FDA investigators commonly cite manufacturing firms for their failure to assure the quality of water in use. This course is designed to help the learner identify the typical uses of water in pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing. This course will also help the learner recognize the general process for producing high quality water, various approaches for monitoring a water system, and possible methods of solving water system problems.
