DOT Part 195: Code Regulations (LBC)

This lesson addresses CFR DOT 49 Part 195 – Transportation of Hazardous Liquids by Pipeline, which governs the operation of liquid petroleum pipelines involved in interstate and intrastate commerce. The lesson provides highlights of each DOT Part 195 subpart. After completing the lesson, learners will recognize: how and why pipeline safety regulations came to exist, the requirements for reporting accidents and safety-related conditions, pipeline design requirements and acceptable construction methods, pressure testing requirements, operating and maintenance requirements for the pipeline system, and how a pipeline operator becomes qualified.
