Dispatching: Normal, Abnormal, and Emergency Operations (LBC)

This lesson addresses the fundamental duties of the pipeline dispatcher during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations. After completing this lesson, the learner will be able to identify: line startup and shutdown procedures under normal conditions, the responsibilities involved in monitoring the pipeline during normal operations, and ways to adjust the flow rate through a pipeline. The learner will also recognize the proper procedures for handling abnormal conditions (alarms and unexplained measurement variances) and emergency situations (fires, leaks, and other accidents), and how to respond to alarms.
