Dispatching (Controlling) and Hydraulics (LBC)

This information presents the fundamentals of pipeline dispatching and/or controlling the pipeline facility and hydraulics utilized in a pipeline system. After completing this lesson, individuals should be able to recognize: the basics principles of batch and interface tracking, how the properties of a product affect flow and pressure, how line pressure and flow rates are controlled, how to calculate the estimated time of arrival and depletion, different types of facilities and equipment used in batching, and how hydraulic principles affect product flow. The lesson also addresses the types of pump drivers, remote monitoring and controlling of the line, and how to increase line capacity through the use of flow improvers.
