Drugs in the Workplace: Responsibilities and Guidelines

This lesson addresses the supervisory responsibilities outlined in the Department of Transportation (DOT), Title 49 Part 199, Drug and Alcohol Testing, that govern reasonable cause drug testing. After completing this course, the individual should be able to recognize: the correct procedures to follow when a covered individual is called for drug testing, indicators of illegal drug use in a covered individual, how to report suspected drug abuse, and the physical characteristics and effects of marijuana, cocaine, opiates (such as morphine, codeine, and heroin), and phencyclidine (PCP), amphetamines.
